'Meretricious' is a great word, because it sounds like merit + delicious, so you're like, "cool, I want to be meretricious!" But then it turns around and mocks you for that assumption. It's so evil.

I hate songfic.

Like, unreasonably hate it.

Like, want to shove the lyrics down the author's throat, hate it.

Which is funny, because the first couple of fics I wrote, when I was about twelve years old and still a starry-eyed Mulder/Scully shipper, were songfics.
